About Us

Peace Child Sierra Leone was set up to promote sustainable development to children, youth and women throughout the country.

Since then, Peace Child Sierra Leone, has successfully be involved in different projects ranging from environment, employment, education, health, governance, capacity building  and human rights involving the women and young people of Sierra Leone.

Peace Child Sierra Leone also provided important input to Peace Child Publications on the environment, human rights, Rescue mission 'The Children's Edition' of Agenda 21, the history of the United Nations and magazine
articles on sustainability, peace issues, human rights etc. In 1999, it mounted a National Consultation for the Millennium Young People's Congress to enable young people and women to determine “Priorities for the New Millennium & quot. "

The office also manages to raise funds independently through local aid agency offices and its own international contacts. It focuses on a number disadvantaged communities - Kroo Bay, Firestone, Ginger Hall, Pujehun, Kailahun, Kono, Saa Malain, etc., where it identifies youth project developers to analyze conditions, come up with solutions that young people can implement and formulate their ideas into workable structures.

Over the years PCSL has also encouraged and received many young people from the Northern hemisphere to come and give contributions to the development of this tiny and ravaged country - thereby sharing and exchanging ideas that are useful for positive engagement of young people in the development process.

Mission

The mission of Peace Child Sierra Leone is to empower women and young people in Sierra Leone’s most disadvantaged communities; to analyze and be able to address their greatest needs, so that they can take action and create networks and long term links between different institutions working in different communities to sustain the impact of these projects.
